We are pleased to introduce Muhsin Siddiquey, the new Country Director of Muslim Aid-UK Bangladesh. Muhsin has over 28 years of experience in humanitarian and development programming across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Throughout his career, he worked with CARE, IMC, Oxfam, Save the Children, and IRC. Key areas of his expertise include strategic planning, organizational transformation and managing changes, program quality, advocacy, localization, gender equality, and stakeholder relations.
Prior to joining Muslim Aid, he worked as Deputy Regional Director - Program Quality for Asia (2022-2024) to ensuring alignment with CARE’s Vision and Global Strategy. He also briefly served as Interim Regional Program Operations Director, supporting leadership transitions and enhancing operational efficiencies. As Country Director at IMC in Ethiopia in 2022, he managed a $40M annual portfolio. Previously (2018-2022), Muhsin served as Oxfam’s Country Director in Yemen and offered strategic leadership in managing its large operations and advocacy efforts. As a member of the Humanitarian Country Team(HCT) in Yemen, he was a strong voice in advocating adherence to humanitarian principles, international laws, and protection of civilians.
Hisearlier leadership roles include Program Director at Save the Children in Yemen(2016-2018), driving innovation and quality across an $86M country program and Program Director at IRC in South Sudan in 2015, managing large donor grants and navigating security risks with remarkable agility.
Going back further, Muhsin held progressive leadership roles with CARE in Sudan(2009-2015) and Bangladesh (1993-2007). As a Program Director and Interim Country Director in Sudan, he spearheaded strategy and financial-operational stability. His work in Bangladesh focused on maternal health and gender-based violence, setting foundations for national-level policy impact. With over 21 years of dedicated service to CARE, he played a pivotal role in shaping strategic programs, strengthening regional leadership, and advancing humanitarian impact across multiple geographies.
Muhsin holds an M.P.H. from Emory University, USA, and an M.Sc. degree in Economics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. His academic background iscomplemented by specialized training in competitive business strategy and innovation.
Beyond the professional sphere, he is a man deeply rooted in family. He cherishes time spent with loved ones, especially his daughter. Also, he loves to travel and explore new places, finding joy in diverse cultures and beautiful landscapes.
