Yesterday marked 40 years of emergency response work at Muslim Aid. We spent the evening reflecting together at a venue in London, looking back at the valuable work of former workers and trustees, honouring the work being put in to save lives as we speak - particularly by those Muslim Aiders unable to join us in London - while holding close the world we want to see. So many people resonated with striking Khalid's message: that charities should be seeking to abolish themselves, and render themselves obsolete by eliminating the suffering and need for charities in the first place.
